Patricia G. Atkinson, 97, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. She was born on March 17, 1919 in Winburne, Clearfield County, and was a daughter of the late William and Mary (Thurston) George, and was the widow of Captain (Ret) Roy C. Atkinson, US Navy, who died Sept. 21, 2012.

Patricia graduated from Philipsburg High School and was a US Navy veteran of WWII. Pat was a devoted and loving homemaker. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Carlisle.

She is survived by one son, Jeffrey H. Atkinson and his wife Rebecca of Evergreen, Colorado, one sister, Margaret Golding of Orlando, FL, one granddaughter, Bailey Atkinson, one grandson, Bryce Atkinson, two step-grandsons; Jake and Jack Jacobson and several nieces and nephews. Patricia was predeceased by one daughter, Mary Lynne Atkinson.

A memorial service will be held Monday, June 6, 2016, at 11 a.m., in St. John's Episcopal Church, On the Square in Carlisle, with Rev. David Bateman and Rev. Harry Knisely officiating. Inurnment will be in St. John's Chapel of the Good Shepherd Columbarium. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation and fellowship immediately following the service in the church parish hall.
