Nina Lee Herr, 91, of Carlisle passed away on Sunday September 7, 2025, at UPMC Harrisburg. She was born on December 26, 1933, in Union, SC to the late James Walter Kirby and Nora (Bolton) Kirby. Nina was the widow of Lawrence S. Herr, who passed away on July 24, 2007.

Nina drove school bus for a short time for South Middleton School District but spent most of her life being a homemaker.

She is survived by one son Kirby (his wife Clairessa) Herr and her daughter in-law Laurie Herr. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her other son Rodney Herr, six brothers, George Kirby of Union, SC, Robert Kirby of Union, SC, William Kirby of Union, SC, Fred Kirby of Union, SC, Ralph Kirby of Douglasville, GA, and Gilbert Kirby of Lockhart, SC, two sisters, Mabel Foster of Union, SC, and Helen Wright of Oberlin, PA.

A viewing will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle. The burial will take place the following day, September 17, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA.
