Nancy J. Whitacre, 66, of Carlisle, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at home.  She was born on June 30, 1957, in Punxsutawney and was a daughter of the late David Noah Buterbaugh and Eleanor Jane (Peffer) Buterbaugh.

Nancy graduated from Indiana Area Senior High School with the class of 1975.  She retired from Lancaster General Hospital where she was a secretary in the social services department.  She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Indiana, PA.  She was a volunteer at Carlisle Project Share and loved flower gardening.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years Randy C. Whitacre, one sister Judy Zolensky and her husband Roger Sturtz of Carlisle, one niece Shana (David) Morrow and one great-nephew Jackson Morrow.

A private family memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2024, in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev.
