Nancy L. Shughart, 79, of Carlisle, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at UPMC Carlisle. She was born on August 18, 1947, in Carlisle and was a daughter of the late Leo Morin and Genevieve (Walker) Morin.

Nancy graduated from Trinity High School. She was a former meter maid for the Borough of Carlisle, worked as a lunch lady for Carlisle High School and retired from Cumberland County Nursing Home where she worked in the house cleaning department. Nancy was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Carlisle and the former Cumberland Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, Carlisle.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 51 years Richard L. Shughart, one daughter Emily (husband Craig) Bixler of Harrisburg, four stepchildren, Denise Satterfield, Dosha Brown, Diane Musser and Dennie Wickard, one granddaughter Elleanor Bixler and many step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister Judy Salamone.

A viewing will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2026, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Rev.
