Miriam A. Sykes, 87, of Boiling Springs, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2019 at home.  She was born on September 17, 1932 in Harrisburg and was a daughter of the late Paul Kreider Parthmore and Olive (Smith) Parthmore.  She was the widow of Edward C. Sykes who passed away on March 25, 1999.

Miriam was a 1950 graduate of William Penn High School in Harrisburg.  She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  Miriam enjoyed wildlife, painting and bowling in the women's morning league at Midway Bowling Center.

She is survived by four sons; Edward A. (Karen) Sykes of Camp Hill, Michael S. (Rhonda Girard) Sykes of Boiling Springs, William P (Anncherie Smith) Sykes, Carlisle and Mark A. (Kim) Sykes, Carlisle, 4 grandchildren; Whitney, Kayce, Erin and Jonathan, Whitney and 11 great-grandchildren.  Miriam was preceded in death by one sister, Martha Parthmore.
