Obituary

Miriam R. Brickner, 93, of Carlisle, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle. She was born March 11, 1920, in Carlisle, a daughter of the late Raymond A. and Shirley (Neidigh) Worley, and was the widow of Moran E. Brickner, who died Nov. 16, 2000.

Miriam was a loving homemaker and during WWII was employed at the former C. H. Masland & Sons, Carlisle.

She is survived by one brother, Clyde Worley, three sisters; Florence Ahlers, Betty Long and Phyllis McCoy, all of Carlisle, one grandson, James E. Brickner of Lorton, VA, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Miriam was predeceased by one son, Robert L. Brickner, who died in 2008, one grandson, Jeffrey R. Brickner, five brothers; Leroy, Raymond, John, Norman and William Worley and two sisters; Irene Lippert and Blanche Meredith.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Pastor Tim Wheeler officiating. A viewing will be on Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until time of services. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Memorial contributions may be made to Celtic Healthcare, Carlisle.
