Mildred E. "Millie" Myers, 91, of Carlisle passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at home with family by her side. She was born November 23, 1924 in Shippensburg, and was a daughter of the late Lawrence Rutherford Carey and Minerva (Ingram) Carey.

Millie retired from the Carlisle Hospital and then provided many years of service to the Chapel Pointe Retirement Community. She formerly worked for Sarah Todd Nursing Home, the Letterkenny Army Depot and Martin Pants Factory and Shirt Craft, both in Shippensburg. Millie attended the Newville Church of the Brethren and the Carlisle Alliance Church. She was a former member of several square dancing clubs in the area.

She is survived by two sons; William L. (wife, Diane) Myers of Puyallup, WA and Ronald E. (wife, Cindy) Myers of Dresher, PA, one daughter, Tammy R. McGee of San Antonia, TX, one brother, Ernest Lee Carey and one sister, Patricia Frey, both of Shippensburg, five grandchildren; Alexis McGee, Cyrena McGee, David Myers, Jennifer Myers and Mark Myers and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to all who shared their love and support during Millie's journey through life.

A viewing will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2016, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St, Carlisle, with Rev. Kevin Dunlap officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. Fellowship will follow the burial at the Plainfield Church of God.
