Michael G. Heberlig, 67, of Newville, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at his home.  He was born on August 15, 1957, in Carlisle and was a son of the late George and Ruth (Kamerer) Heberlig.

Mike graduated from Big Spring High School with the class of 1977.  He owned and operated Heberlig's Roofing and Spouting in Newville after graduation.  Mike was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Newville.  Mike was the caretaker for many years at Upper Frankford Twp. Brick Church Cemetery, Newville.  Mike was deeply devoted to his family.  He enjoyed hunting, gardening, farming and loved woodworking.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years Sharon A. (Negley) Heberlig, one daughter Ashley F. (husband Russell) Kulp, Jr. of Newville, one brother Gary Heberlig of Newville, three sisters, Winifred Murphy of New York and Mary Anne Heckendorn and Nancy Hosler both of Newville, two grandchildren, Russell Kulp, III and Tessa Kulp and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by one brother Charles Heberlig.

A viewing will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 20, 2025, followed by a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. in the St. Peter Lutheran Church, 210 Brick Church Rd., Newville, with Minister Keith Gutshall officiating.  Burial will be private.  There will be fellowship following the service at the Upper Frankford Twp. Volunteer Fire Co. in Bloserville.  Memorial contributions in honor of Mike may be made to his church.  www.EwingBrothers.com.
