Michael E. Darhower, Sr., 76, of Carlisle, died on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at ManorCare Health Services, Carlisle.  He was born on March 13, 1943 in Carlisle and was a son of the late Harry J. and Hazel (Oyler) Darhower.

Mike worked for more than 30 years with the former Kinney Shoe Corp., Carlisle and retired as a supervisor.  After retiring, Mike worked as a handyman with Hooke & Suter.

He is survived by one son, Michael E. (Shelly) Darhower, Jr. of Carlisle, four daughters; JoAnn L. (George) Bender of Carlisle, Kelly L. (Robert) Flood of NC, Robin L. (Leroy) Ellerman of Shippensburg and Rebecca S. Keim of Annville, one brother, Urie (Violet) Darhower of Boiling Springs, three sisters; Mary Gutshall of Carlisle, Faylen "Faye" (Tom) Enterline of Dillsburg and Betty Myers of PA, his former wife and long time friend, Janet L (Henry) Darhower of Annville,his companion of many years, Betty Gsell of Carlisle, four grandchildren, Cody A. Ellerman (Kelli), Emanuel (Manny) Darhower, Tyson Darhower, Casey Keim, two great-grandchildren, Lane Darhower and Kinsley Ellerman and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by seven brothers; Harry, Elwood, Gary, Luther, Floyd (Pork), Donald, Marlin Darhower and one sister, Patrisa (Trish) Kuhn.
