Michael Jay Clinton, 79, of Carlisle, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center, Camp Hill.  He was born on June 9, 1945, in Boston, Mass. and was a son of the late Frank J. Clinton and Emeline (Noa) Clinton.

Jay was a 1963 graduate of Ft. Lauderdale High School in Florida and earned his bachelor's degree in health and physical education from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina.  After college, he taught physical education and health at Northeast High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and then entered the corporate world as a purchasing agent after moving to Colorado in 1977.  He returned to Fort Lauderdale in 1984 and then moved to Pennsylvania in 1988.   Since 1991 Jay has been a sales agent offering Medicare, Life and Annuity products and was still working part-time in Carlisle.  Jay enjoyed hunting, fishing and scuba diving when he was younger.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years Nancy K. (Ferguson) Clinton, one son Michael J. Clinton, Jr. of Newville, one daughter Lindsey K. Clinton of Carlisle, one sister Claudia Dowsett of Newland, NC, two grandchildren, Cassidy Pletcher and Ryker Nagy and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by one brother Frank Clinton.

A celebration of life open house will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at his daughter's home, 710 Longs Gap Road, Carlisle, PA 17013.  The burial will be private.  www.EwingBrothers.com.
