Obituary

Merle E. Warner, 95, of Carlisle, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at the Carlisle Hospital.  He was born on March 2, 1927, in Carlisle and was the son of the late Samuel E. Warner and Mary (Wagner) Warner.
Merle was a US Army veteran of World War II and also served in the Korean War.  He retired from AMP, Inc. in Carlisle after many years of service and previously worked at the Mechanicsburg Naval Supply Depot.  Merle was a member of the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Carlisle, and a life member of the VFW Post 477 also of Carlisle.  Merle served with the Carlisle Special Fire Police and worked as a Security Guard.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 71 years Joyce I. (Railing) Warner, two sons, Jon (Judy) Miller of Sea Grove Beach, FL and David E. (Cynthia) Warner of Hummelstown, three daughters, Sandra L. (Ron) Weibley of Boiling Springs, Dianne S. (James) Czupil of Mechanicsburg and Amy L. (Mark) Roberts of Mechanicsburg, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by three sisters, Evelyn Woodruff, Ethel Ryder and Pauline Burtnett.
A visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with the Reverend Titus Clarke and the Reverend William Schmid, BA, MDiv, STM officiating.  Burial will be private at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carlisle.  www.Since1853.com.
