Mary L. Lamma, 93, of Carlisle, died on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at her home with family by her side.  She was born on November 19, 1931, in Carlisle and was a daughter of the late Stewart K. Mountz and Marie (Clouse) Mountz and was the widow of James M. Lamma, Sr. who died October 9, 1996.

Mary earned her G.E.D.  She worked at the Dickinson School of Law in the maintenance department and retired after 19 years of service.  She was a member of the Good Shepherd Community United Methodist Church, Carlisle.

She is survived by two sons, Stewart E. Lamma and his wife Susan of Carlisle and James M. Lamma Jr. and his wife Brenda of Ohio, one daughter Tammy Kline and her husband Charles of East Waterford, eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  Mary was preceded in death by one daughter Kathy Showaker who died in 1972, three brothers, Luther, Harold and Lee Mountz and five sisters, Varie Gayman, Beulah Snyder, Helen McCoy, Dorothy Earley and Erma Minnich.

A visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2025, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle.  Pastor William Pipp will officiate the service.  Private burial will be at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.  Condolences can be left at www.EwingBrothers.com.
