Mary M. Kennedy, 87 of Carlisle, died Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle. She was born on Monday, July 15, 1929 in Carlisle, a daughter of the late James C. and Fannie Pearl (Trostle) Bowermaster. She was the widow of Russell A. "Buck" Kennedy who died August 11, 2012, and to whom she was married for 62 years.

She was a devoted housewife and cared for her grandchildren and was a childcare provider for many families over the years. She was a member of the Wesleyan Church of The Cross, Carlisle. Mary enjoyed listening to the tunes of Elvis, playing cards, dancing, finding treasures at garage sales and being with her family.

She is survived by her two sons; Wesley Bowermaster of Carlisle, Michael (and his wife, Paula) Kennedy of Lewistown; two stepsons; William (and his wife, Jackie) Kennedy and Larry (and his wife, Patricia) Kennedy both of Carlisle, 9 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren. Mary was predeceased by brothers; Vincent, Preston, James and Sidney Bowermaster and sisters; Shirley Nestor, Cleo Little and Dolores Weigle.

A viewing will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, September 12, 2016 followed by funeral services at 1:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St, Carlisle, with Rev. Daniel R.
