Mary Jane Bender, 88, of Carlisle, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at UPMC Harrisburg.  She was born on August 16, 1935, in Brogue, PA and was a daughter of the late Harry C. Fake and Margaret E. (Keefer) Fake.

Mary Jane graduated in 1954 from Red Lion High School and graduated from the York Academy Beauty School.  Mary Jane retired from Tyco International after 35 years of service.

She is survived by one son Brian (wife Tammy) Snyder of Mechanicsburg, two daughters, Debra (husband Paul) Peterson of Enola and Regina (husband Nathan) Halvorson of Mt. Holly Springs, one brother Rick Fake, three sisters, Helen Badders, Phyllis Fike, and Janet Duncan, 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by one son Steven Snyder, three brothers, Dallas, Robert and Donald Fake and two sisters, Shirley Fake and Shelby Krout.

A visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2024, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle.  The burial will be private.  www.Since1853.com.
