Martha Jane Mathews, 78, of Carlisle, passed away peacefully at home on September 26, 2018 after a lengthy illness.

She attended Abington Friends School of Abington, PA. Jane was member of the Class of 1960 of Endicott College in Beverly, MA with a major in marketing. In her youth, she was an active equestrienne competing in numerous riding competitions. She was retired and previously a small business owner.

She is survived by her sons; William Troup and his wife Denise of Littlestown and John Troup and his partner Julie of Carlisle. She is survived by grandchildren; Dr. Nicholas Troup of Salisbury, MD, Leslie Shoemaker of Colonial Park, and Devon Troup of Carlisle. She is also survived by a sister, Marilyn Tjaden of Ottsville.

A service of remembrance will be held at a future date. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle is in charge of the arrangements.
