Mark R. Snyder, 56, of Newville, died Friday, January 30, 2015, at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MD. He was born November 28, 1958, in Gettysburg, a son of the late Russell P. and Dorothy May (Floyd) Snyder.

He was a 1976 graduate of Gettysburg High School and in 1980 received a Bachelor's degree in Cartography from Clarion University. Mark was the Chief Sales Consultant with Universal Door and Specialties, Carlisle. He was a member of Carlisle United Methodist Church and played guitar with the church's Praise Band. Fishing and playing guitar were two of Mark's passions and through the years Mark had played with many local bands that included: Terrapin Station, The Regulars, Charlie & Company and Remix.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 26 years, Gina L. (Rummel) Snyder, two daughters; Megan L. (and her husband, Nick) Wardle of Carlisle and Kayla M. Snyder of Newville, two brothers; Robert Dean and Scott Snyder, one sister, Dorothy Lisle and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, February 6, 2015, at 2:00 pm, at the Carlisle United Methodist Church, 45 W. South Str., Carlisle, with Rev. Jim VanZandt and Rev. Mira Hewlett officiating. A time of visitation and fellowship will follow the service at the church. The family requests casual attire. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements. The family kindly request no flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to Carlisle United Methodist Church.
