Mark C. Mayberry, 95, of Carlisle, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle. He was born on July 15, 1921 in Newville, and was a son of the late John E. and Myrtle (Lehman) Mayberry. He was married to the late Bernita "Neitie" (Cline) Mayberry, who died on June 14, 2014.
Mark was a WWII US Navy veteran. He retired after 48 years of service with the former C. H. Masland & Sons, Carlisle. He was a member of the First Church of God, Carlisle, where he was a past Sunday School teacher. Mark was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a former member of the Keystone King Club.
He is survived by two sons; M. Duane (Cathy) Mayberry of Newville and John C. (Lisa) Mayberry of Carlisle, one daughter, Dianne M. (Robert) Mentzer of Carlisle, five grandchildren; R. Matthew Mentzer, Mark C. Mentzer, Angela M. Wagner, Jon Trapper Mayberry and Taylor Mayberry, 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one granddaughter, Corey Mayberry Heishman, four brothers; David, Floyd, Wilmer and Ray Mayberry and two sisters; Dorothy Miller and Rosamond Kerr.
A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2016, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St, Carlisle. Rev. Daniel Mikesell will officiate. Burial with military honors by Cumberland County Honor Guard will be in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle.
