Marie May Keefauver, 97, of Carlisle, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at UPMC Carlisle.  She was born on March 1, 1926, in York and was a daughter of the late John William Nitchman and Vergie May Reaser Nitchman.  Marie was the widow of David S. Keefauver who passed away on January 28, 2006.

Marie worked at the United States Army War College Library for many years.  She was a longtime member of Newville Assembly of God Church where she was a former pianist and  organist.  Marie also served in other Assembly of God Churches as a teacher, pianist, and organist.  She was a member of the Discipleship Group that has services at local nursing homes.

Marie is survived by nieces and nephews including, Lynn E. (wife Nylene) Trump of Dillsburg, Linda D. (husband Douglas) Helfrick of Franklintown, Connie L. (husband Dennis) Helfrick of Waynesboro and Jeffrey L. (wife Brenda) Trump of East Berlin.  She was preceded in death by one sister Jeanne F. Trump who died May 7, 2012, and nephew Terry A. Trump who died Nov. 13, 2012.

A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev. Jeffrey Kettering as the officiant.  The burial will be in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Newville Assembly of God Church, 403 Oak Flat Road, Newville, PA 17241.  www.Since1853.com.
