Margaret "Peggy" M. Sheriff, 89, of Carlisle, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle.  She was born on August 20, 1935, in Newville and was a daughter of the late David Richcreek and Bertha (Riggleman) Richcreek. She was the widow of Charles F. Sheriff who died October 24, 2024.

Margaret worked and retired after many years as a cafeteria cook at the Carlisle Senior High School.  She was a member of the Wellspring Wesleyan Church, Carlisle where she formerly taught Sunday School and helped with Vacation Bible School.

She is survived by two sons, Michael (wife Penny) Sheriff of Carlisle and Keith (wife Barb) Sheriff of Spring Hill, FL, one daughter Julie (husband Dale) Shambaugh of Carlisle, two sisters, Mary Reed and Shirley Dunbar both of Carlisle, 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by five brothers, William, James, Sylvan, Eugene and Marlin Sheriff and two sisters, Ethel and Doris Bitner.

A viewing will begin at 12:00 noon on Monday, March 3, 2025, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev. Daniel Mikesell officiating.  The burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. www.EwingBrothers.com.
