IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margaret Louise
Mowery
December 24, 1929 – June 13, 2022
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our mother, Margaret Louise Mowery on June 13, 2022, at age 92. She is survived by her three children, Debbie Mowery Walker and her husband Thomas (Malvern, Pa), Mary Ann Mowery (Columbus, Ohio) and Charles U. Mowery Jr. and his wife Carol (Carlisle. Pa.) along with her late daughter Beverly Everett (Bill Everett). She will always remain in our hearts and will be greatly missed.
Margaret was born to the late William Stuart McKeehan and Ida (Morrison) McKeehan on December 24, 1929. Margaret grew up in Newville, Pennsylvania on the McKeehan family farm where she enjoyed childhood with her 11 siblings. Margaret had many wonderful life stories to share. One of her favorites was when she met her love and late husband, Charles "Moose" Mowery, while working at the telephone company. Margaret had many experiences working outside the home, but she loved being at home and taking care of her family. Family, cooking, and outdoor gardening were things that brought joy to Margaret's life. Margaret had a great sense of humor, and everyone laughed with her as she shared time and stories with them.
Margaret has 10 grandchildren (Charles Mowery III, Scottie Mowery, Jason Rees, Bryan Rees, Stephanie Devonald, Patrick Walker, Denny Nickel, Kelly Arnsberger, Susan Daprile and Jennifer Westford) and 12 great grandchildren (Shawn, Ryan and Kira Devonald, Dylan, Ellie and Charlotte Rees, Samantha, Jaxon and Peyton Mowery, Drew and Tanner Nickel and BrieAnn Arnsberger). She was survived by four siblings, Shirley Kipps, Robert McKeehan, Barbara Straub, and Billy McKeehan. She is preceded in death by five brothers, Edgar, Parker, Paul, Jamie, and Johnny McKeehan and two sisters Betty McBride and Dolly Chiappetta.
At her time of death, Margaret was living at Green Ridge Retirement Village, Newville. There Margaret shared her beautiful smile and her great sense of humor with those around her including the resident and staff.
A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 2022, followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Chaplain Ed Rabenstein officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
