Mabel P. Schlusser, 91, of Carlisle, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle. She was born on May 14, 1925 in Saville Twp, Perry County, and was a daughter of the late Edward N. and Ida E. (Fry) Turnbaugh. She was the widow of Harold E. Schlusser, Sr, who died on Feb. 5, 1999.

Mabel worked for 19 years at the Dickinson School of Law and retired in 1987. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church, Carlisle. Mabel enjoyed being a part of the Carlisle Salvation Army Senior Action Center.

She is survived by two sons; Robert E. (Marlene) Schlusser and Harold E. Schlusser, Jr., both of Carlisle, two daughters; Freda P. Schlusser of Carlisle and June C. (Mike) Weber of York, 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one daughter, Doris A. Bernhisel.

A viewing will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2016 followed by the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St, Carlisle, with Rev. Anthony D. Lorenz officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Memorial gifts in Mabel's name may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 2A North Hanover St, Carlisle, PA 17013.
