Obituary

Mabel I. Blosser, 96, of Carlisle, died Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle. She was born on Friday, March 5, 1915, in Carlisle, a daughter of the late Benjamin H. Snyder and Annie E. (Gutshall) Snyder, and the widow of Glenn L. Blosser, who died August 24, 2003.

Mabel was a 1935 graduate of Carlisle High School and had worked as a bookkeeper for 21 years with the former M & S Construction of Carlisle. She was a member of the Carlisle Brethren In Christ Church.

She is survived by three brothers; Sylvester R. Snyder and Edward L. Snyder, both of Carlisle and Ray G. Snyder of Beesley's Point, NJ, four sisters; Rose M. Bitner, Betty R. Shuler, Annabelle M. Wetzel and Shirley A. Kauffman, all of Carlisle and many nieces and nephews. Mabel was preceded in death by two brothers; Charles L. and Richard B. Snyder and four sisters; Grace V. Deitch, Marian J. Calaman, Doris J. Mixell and Vivian M. Tibbo.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2011, in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Rev. Kenneth O. Hoke officiating. Burial will be in Trindle Spring Cemetery, Mechanicsburg. Viewing will be on Friday from 12:30 p.m. until time of service.

I am saddened at the loss and so soon after her sister, my mother, Vivian Tibbo. She has now joined her family in Heaven. What a celebration that must have been.
