Loretta A. Paxton, 77, of Mechanicsburg and formerly of Carlisle, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Penn State Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill. She was born on November 18, 1948, in Carlisle and was a daughter of the late Ralph E. Paxton Sr. and Viola R. (Myers) Paxton.

Loretta attended Carlisle School Area School District. She retired after 45 years of service from Carlisle Hospital where she was a kitchen supervisor.

She is survived by one daughter Angela M. (husband Jeff) Green, one granddaughter Avery Green, Mechanicsburg and several nieces and nephews. Loretta was the last of her siblings. She was preceded in death by brothers, Ralph Paxton, Jr., William Paxton, Ronald Paxton, Robert Paxton and Terry Paxton, her sisters, Betty Smotherman, Linda Hurley and Shirley Edgecomb.

A viewing will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St, Carlisle with Pastor Greg Hench officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. www.EwingBrothers.com.
