Lois K. Alwood, 81, of Carlisle, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2016 at ManorCare Health Services, Carlisle. She was born on September 27, 1935 in Carlisle, and was a daughter of the late Clifford I. and Leah E. (Whistler) Myers.

Lois graduated from Carlisle High School with the Class of 1953. She had worked as a bookkeeper title clerk for several businesses including; Buckley Motors, Reading Imported Motors and W.L.S. Motors all of Carlisle.

She is survived by two sons; Jim (wife Jeanne Maher) Alwood of Damascus, MD and Richard C. (wife Kathy) Alwood of Carlisle, two brothers; Galen C. Myers and Alvin W. Myers, two sisters; Miriam M. Huffman and Velma E. (husband Glenn) Pfleiderer, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A viewing will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2016 followed by funeral services at 1:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Rev. Chris Schwab officiating. Burial will be private. Please visit www.Since1853.com to send condolences.
