Obituary

Linda A. Jumper, 76, of Carlisle, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Silver Spring Personal Care Home in Mechanicsburg.

Linda was born on September 24, 1947, in Carlisle and was a daughter of the late William Fickes and Betty (McLaughlin) Fickes.  She married her high school sweetheart, George E. Jumper, in 1966. They would have celebrated 58 years of marriage this fall. Throughout their life together, they enjoyed traveling as a part of George's singing ministry, spending time with their family, and enjoying the dream home they built in the woods outside Carlisle.

Linda graduated from Big Spring High School with the Class of 1965 and attended Central Pennsylvania Business College for two years. She worked as an administrative assistant at the Bongiorno Conference Center, Carlisle and retired after 20 years of service. She attended New Hope Church of God in Carlisle.

She is survived by her husband George, two daughters, Christina (Robert) Hadley of Beaufort, SC and Courtney (Dillon) Lucente of Silver Spring, MD, and four beloved grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, John Fickes.

A visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2024, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle.  www.EwingBrothers.com.  www.EwingBrothers.com.
