Lester L. Sipe, 94, of Carlisle, died on Monday, August 10, 2020 at home with family by his side.  He was born on December 18, 1925 in Boiling Springs and was a son of the late Russell and Irene (Miller) Sipe and was married for 71 years to the late Ruth R. (Kitner) Sipe, who died June 24, 2019.

Lester was a US Army veteran of World War II.  He worked with the Federal Equipment Co. as a cabinet maker and machine operator for five years.  Lester then worked for more than 14 years with the Piezo Crystal Co., Carlisle as a production supervisor.  Mr. Sipe enjoyed working.  He was employed at the YMCA as a maintenance helper for three years and with Castle's Lumber Co. as a yardman for more than two years.  Lester had a passion for making model planes and building things

He is survived by four children; Garry W. (Doris) Sipe, Susan M. Minich, Wanda J. Earnest and Bryan E. Sipe, 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephew.  He was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Gary Minich, one brother, Francis Sipe and one sister Carolyn Jones.

A graveside service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2020 in Westminster Memorial Gardens, 1159 Newville Road, Carlisle with Rev. Dale Barrick officiating.  Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle is in charge of the arrangements.  www.Since1853
