Lester E. "Chet" Rupp, 70, Newville, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2016 at home. He was born on January 7, 1946 in Carlisle, a son of the late Ember B. and Helen G. (Corman) Rupp.

Lester attended Carlisle High School and formerly worked for Carlisle Tire & Rubber Co., Quaker Oats and McLaughlin Painting. He owned and operated Rupp's Painting in Carlisle for several years. Lester enjoyed all sports, spending time with his family, hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He was of Protestant faith.

He is survived by one son, Mark Rupp of Scranton, four brothers; Robert, Bernie, Denny and Terry Rupp and two sisters; Loretta Morrow and Carol McLaughlin, all of Carlisle, 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one daughter, Leslie Rupp, three brothers; Lloyd, Lil and Ronnie Rupp and three sisters; Faye Rupp, Gayle McLaughlin and Donna Rupp.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St, Carlisle. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to his granddaughter, caregiver and with whom he lived, Jamie McKee, C/O Ewing Brothers Funeral Home.
