Leisa Rae Heineman, 54, of Carlisle, beloved wife of Carl Heineman of 28 years, passed away on Saturday, June 14th, in the comfort of her home and surrounded by her loved ones.

Leisa was born on March 18, 1959, in Carlisle, a daughter of the late Beverly I. Miller and the granddaughter of the late Albert and Irene Fisher. Leisa was a graduate of Carlisle High School, a member of First Presbyterian Church and co-owned with her husband Carl, Brown Optical in Carlisle. Leisa was a kind and gentle soul; she had a loving and generous heart and a unique sense of humor. Fall was her favorite time of year because it was all about Halloween. She was a self-taught painter and has oil paintings hanging in homes from coast to coast. She enjoyed traveling, but lived for her grandchildren. She is already and forever will be greatly missed by family and friends. Everyone who loved her, knows and are comforted, that she is watching over us all.

She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her four children; daughter, Jennifer and husband, Andy and grandchildren Bella and Jackson, son, Michael and grandchildren Sarah and Brendon, son, Jimmy and grandchildren Ellie and Lilly, daughter, Christina and fiancé, Jordan, one stepdaughter Abby and husband, Bill and grandchildren Wesly and Gage, one sister, Debbie and husband, Durwin, three brothers; Darryl and wife, Mary, Paul and partner, Lori and brother, Robert.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014, at 12:00 noon at the First Presbyterian Church, On the Square in Carlisle. A time of fellowship will immediately follow the service at the church. Burial will be private. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute, 500 University Drive, Hershey, PA 17033.
