Lee T. Bernard, 67, of Carlisle, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2013, at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. He was born in Harrisburg on March 19, 1946, a son of the late Lee T. and Ruth (Cummings) Bernard.

Lee was a 1963 graduate of John Harris High School in Harrisburg, PA. He then graduated from American University, Washington D.C., where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science. He began his career with the State of Pennsylvania working for the Department of Justice, and retired from the Department of Corrections in 2003, where he served as Director of Administration. He loved animals and enjoyed theater, a wide range of music, cars, sports, and racing. He was preceded in death by his brother, Lynn Bernard.

Lee is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Linda H. (Guse) Bernard, one step-daughter, Marnee (and her husband, Aaron and their daughter, Alivia) Martinelli of Mechanicsburg, as well as several nieces and nephews.
