Larry W. Wickard, 81, of Newville, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at LeTort Spring Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Carlisle. He was born on February 19, 1945, in Carlisle and was a son of the late George B. Wickard and Ethel L. (Kamerer) Wickard.

Larry graduated from Big Spring High School in 1964. He grew up on the family farm where he helped his father and later his son when it became a third-generation farm. Larry worked for 13 years with U. P. S. and retired from Giant Food Distribution Center, Carlisle. He worked for Giant for more than 25 years where he was the longest serving maintenance manager. Larry was a devoted member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Newville. He was a loving father and grandfather who was dedicated to his family, adored his grandsons, and enjoyed running his Oliver tractors on the farm.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years Barbara A. (Gettle) Wickard, two sons, Kevin E. Wickard (Michelle Dressler) of Newville and Kraig W. (wife Debora) Wickard of Newville, one brother George P. (wife Juanita) Wickard, one sister Donna Hill, two grandsons, Kyle and Chase, and several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held in the Upper Frankford Brick Church Cemetery, Newville with Rev. Dona Cummings officiating. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 210 Brick Church Road, Newville, PA 17241 or the Michael J.
