Larry P. Robbins, 74, of Newville, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025, at UPMC Carlisle.  He was born on January 21, 1951, in Erie, PA and was the son of William Avery Robbins and Vera (Brainard) Robbins.

Larry graduated from Strong Vincent High School, Erie in 1968 and received a Tech associate degree from McCann Technical School in Criminal Justice.  Larry served in the USMC from 1971 to 1973.  Larry served during the Viet Nam Era, Iraq Freedom and GWOT.  He retired as Sergeant First Class, serving 30 years in the armed forces, including 24 years of service in the national guard, honored by being knighted in the order of St. George.  He was currently working for the U.S Department of Defense as a security monitor in Mechanicsburg and was a former guard at Carlisle Barracks and a former instructor at Fort Indiantown Gap.   He was a professional drummer in the military band and contour. He was a member of the Carlisle AM Vets, and former member of American Legion Post 910 in Jonestown and the Leatherneck Motorcycle Club.

He is survived by his wife Catherine (Shearer) Dissinger-Robbins, one son Jeffrey (companion, Melissa Blaggenstos) Robbins of Ackley, MN and his daughter Sophia Robbins and Melissa's daughter Alyson Techenmeyer, one daughter Christie McGuire of Erie and her children, Trent and Teja, one step-son Cori Dissinger of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, one step-daughter Amber Dissinger of Williamsport, and his canine love "Sunny".

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
