Krista L. "Kris" Baer, 66, of Carlisle, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 15, 2024, at UPMC West Shore.  Kris was born on March 13, 1958, in Carlisle and was the daughter of the late William J. Henry and Ann (Moorhead) Henry.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, David K. Baer, who passed away in 1991.

Kris graduated from Carlisle High School with the Class of 1976 and was a star athlete, regularly competing in state championships for swimming and diving. She continued this passion through many years of coaching, including her children, at the Carlisle YMCA as well as becoming a PIAA official.  After earning her Registered Nursing degree from Harrisburg Area Community College, Kris worked as an RN and retired in 2023 after many years of service with Select Medical Corporation, Mechanicsburg, where she was the Director of Utilization Management.

Kris loved her family, grandchildren, and her friends immensely, and spent every moment she could with them.  She was meticulous in planning each trip and adventure to get the most out of every moment with her loved ones, and always made sure to visit numerous beaches each year with her family and close friends.  Collecting seashells was one of her favorite hobbies, along with crafting and gardening.

Kris is survived by a son Kyle (Bryrony) Baer of Carlisle, and a daughter Kaitlin (Cole) Glennon of Carlisle, two brothers, William (Nicole) Henry of Newville and Andy (Jeannie) Henry of Carlisle, seven grandchildren and eleven nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover Street, Carlisle.  Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions in Kris' name may be made to a charity of your choice.  www.Since1853.com.
