Kathryn W. Wagner, 84, of Carlisle, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025, at UPMC Carlisle.  She was born on April 28, 1940, in Newville and was a daughter of the late William and Esther (Heberlig) Woodburn and the widow of William J. "Billy Joe" Wagner who passed away on January 8, 2019.

Kay graduated from Big Spring High School with the class of 1958 and attended Secretarial School in Harrisburg.  She was a loving homemaker and worked as a secretary at the Cumberland County Courthouse and the West Pennsboro Township Office.  She was a longtime member of Big Spring Presbyterian Church in Newville where she was a former secretary and usher.  Along with her love of making and keeping close family ties, Kay loved Florida, eating out with friends and family and enjoyed playing cards and board games

She is survived by one daughter Susan (husband Palmer) Shellenberger of Carlisle and with whom Kay lived, one grandson Chance M. Wagner of Shippensburg, one daughter-in-law Mildred Wagner also of Shippensburg, one brother Bill (wife Gail) Woodburn of New London, NC and several nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one son David Scott Wagner.

A viewing will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, March 17, 2025, followed by a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. in the Big Spring Presbyterian Church,  25 South Corporation St., Newville, PA 17241 with Rev. Lucy Bowerman and Rev. William Beck officiating.  The burial will be in the church cemetery following the service.  Fellowship with beverages and cookies will follow the burial at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to her church.  www.EwingBrothers.com.
