Kathleen I. (Shughart) Rynard, 95, of Carlisle, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2022, at UPMC Carlisle.  She was born on July 17, 1927, in Carlisle and was a daughter of the late Norman P. Shughart and Esther Ellen (Miller) Shughart.  She was the widow of William L. Rynard.

Kathleen was a member of Community Christian Fellowship, Carlisle.  She retired after working for the Carlisle Ribbon Mill and Dickinson School of Law with the housekeeping department.  Kathleen enjoyed gardening, her flower beds, cooking and spending time with her family.

She is survived by one daughter Connie J. Leonard of Landisburg, one brother L. Eugene (wife Jane) Shughart of Carlisle, one sister Mary E. (husband Richard) Gensler of Boiling Springs, two grandchildren, Margie E. Dove and Rodney L. (wife Brenda) Failor, Jr., four great-grandchildren, Krystal C. Dove, Dakota Failor, Denver Failor and Devick Failor, one great-great-grandson D. J. Failor and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by three brothers, Creedin, Neil, and Leverne Shughart and one sister Genevie Hoover.

A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S.
