Obituary

Joyce I. Warner, 93, of Carlisle, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022, in the Church of God Home, Carlisle.  She was born on August 17, 1929, in Carlisle and was a daughter of the late Levi Railing and Edith (Wagner) Railing.  Joyce was the widow of Merle E. Warner who passed away April 23, 2022.

Joyce graduated from Carlisle High School.  She retired from the United States Army War College after many years of service as an executive secretary.  After retirement, Joyce worked for J. C. Penney in Carlisle.  She was an active member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Carlisle.  Joyce was a member of the Red Hat Club, NARFE, and Golden Agers.  Joyce also enjoyed spending time with her friends attending Silver Sneakers classes regularly.

She is survived by one son David E. (Cynthia) Warner of Hummelstown, three daughters, Sandra L. (Ron) Weibley of Boiling Springs, Dianne S. (James) Czupil of Mechanicsburg and Amy L. (Mark) Roberts of Mechanicsburg, eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by two brothers, Karl and Glenn Railing and one sister Verna Shafer.

Joyce's strong faith was passed down to each of her children who will miss her very much.

A memorial service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 16, 2022, in the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Louther St., Carlisle with Rev. Titus Clarke officiating.  Visitation and fellowship will follow the service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Promedica Hospice.  Visit www.EwingBrothers.com to send condolences to the family.
