Joyce W. Lopp, 90, of Newville went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ from her home on Wednesday, March 11, 2020.  She was born on October 7, 1929 in Newville and was a daughter of the late Oren and Grace (Croman) McGonigal.  She was the widow of Matthew Lopp who passed away Dec. 17, 2003.

Joyce was a Carlisle High School graduate.  She retired from Kinney Shoe after more than 33 years of service in the local Carlisle stores.  She is a member of the Shepherds Gate Worship Center, Newville, where she played piano for 50 years.  Joyce and her late husband sang on a local Carlisle radio station during a worship hour for several years.

She is survived by three sons, Stephen Lopp, John (Terry) Lopp and Jacob (Donna) Lopp all of Newville, one daughter, Deborah Carey of Newville, 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  Joyce was preceded in death by five brothers, Oren Jr., Harry, Glenn, Ira and Jacob McGonigal, four sisters, Ruth Herr, Violet Hippensteel, Mary Kendall and Betty Shenk and one son-in-law, David Carey.

A viewing will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 followed by funeral services at 11:30 a.m. in the Shepherds Gate Worship Center, 53 South Side Dr., Newville, PA 17241 with Pastor Donald Yeagle officiating.  Burial will be in Centerville Memorial Park, Newville.  Visit www.Since1853.com to send condolences.
