He was a parishioner of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Wind Gap and St. John's Episcopal Church, Carlisle. Joe devoted his retirement to his family and friends. He enjoyed sewing quilts, furniture making and making pillow cases and dresses for missionaries.

He is survived by one son, Richard D. of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, one sister, Agnes Chabak of Catasauqua, one daughter-in-law, Sue Dopsovic of Wyomissing, one son-in-law, Terry Young of Carlisle, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Dopsovic and one daughter, Constance Young.
