Joseph V. Correal, 71, of Carlisle, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2016, at Harrisburg Hospital. He was born on May 4, 1944 in Uniontown and was a son of the late Joseph E. and Albesina (Cappriotti) Correal.

Joe graduated from Uniontown High School with the Class of 1962. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education from Indiana State University in 1967 and where he was on the varsity football team. He earned his Master's degree in Education from the former Western Maryland University. Joe retired after 30 years of service with the Cumberland Valley School District, where he was a teacher, football coach and wrestling coach. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Carlisle. Joe was also a member of the Elks Lodge, Fish & Game Assoc., both of Carlisle and the PA Draft Horse and Mule Assoc., and was an avid hunter.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Paula P. (Stover) Correal, one son, Jason C. Correal of Carlisle, two brothers; Pasquale "Pat" Correal of Uniontown and Michael Correal of Bossier City, LA, two sisters; Rose Ruble of Gross Point Farms, MI and Mary Healy of Boca Raton, FL and two nephews; Patrick Correal of Uniontown and Michael Correal of Camden, S. Carolina. He was predeceased by one son and daughter-in-law, 1st Lt Vincent M (and his wife, Karen Schaeffer) Correal, USMC, who both died on September 5, 1994 in an airplane accident.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2016 in the St. Patrick Catholic Church, 85 Marsh Dr., Carlisle, with Rev. William C. Forrey officiating. Burial will follow at St. Patrick New Catholic Cemetery, North Middleton Twp. A viewing will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 26, 2016 in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S.
