Joseph Edgar Boisvert, 92, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at the Brookdale Grandon Farms in Mechanicsburg. He was born on October 10, 1930, in Carlisle. Joseph was the son of the late Luella E. (Stine) Boisvert and the late Henry Pierre Boisvert.
Joseph graduated from Carlisle High School in 1951. He played three years of varsity football. Upon graduation, Joseph served in the Army National Guard as a tank commander. Joseph was employed by Piezo Crystal Co. and L.B. Smith manufacturing. He was later employed and then retired from AMP. inc. as a draftsman.
Joseph served his church, as a church council member and various other capacities. He was a dedicated Cumberland County Honor Guard member and participated in ceremonies for those who had served their country. Joseph participated in officiating and judging swimming and diving events in competitions at the Carlisle Swim Club.
Joseph was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Catherine Loraine (Drexler) Boisvert. Joseph is survived by daughters, Yvonne J. Sultzaberger (husband, Stephen), Vicki L. O'Hanlan (husband, Robert Monaghan), son, Col. (retired) William H. Boisvert (wife, Patricia), and daughter, Catherine M. Gulbrandsen. He was preceded in death by six brothers, Warren H., Robert A., Leo E., Arthur W., Henry P., and William S. Boisvert.
A Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 9, 2022, in the St. Paul Evangelical Church, 201 W. Louther St, Carlisle with Rev. Titus Clarke officiating. The family will be available following the memorial service for visitation. Interment will be at 12:00 noon in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
