John F. Stamy, III, 82, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Thornwald Home in Carlisle.  He was born on January 16, 1942, in Carlisle and was a son of the late John F. Stamy, Jr. and Mary (Failor) Stamy.

John graduated from Big Spring High School in 1959 and completed two years at Shippensburg State College.  He operated the family dairy farm in Newville, PA before purchasing the Baish family farm in Monroe Twp with his wife Diane in 1976.  John loved his family and farming.  He attended Otterbein United Methodist Church, Carlisle.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Diane E. (Baish) Stamy, two sons, John F. Stamy IV and wife Stephanie of Mechanicsburg and Neil E. Stamy of Phoenixville, Pa, one brother Joel Stamy and wife Cyndi of Newville, one sister-in-law Susan Stamy the widow of Jerry Stamy of Newville, two grandchildren, Ian Stamy and wife Melanie and Ashley Stamy Staley and husband Logan, four great-grandchildren, Colton and Clayton Stamy and Ainsley and Teegan Staley and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Spencer and Jerry Stamy.
