IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John A.
Mixell Jr.
August 11, 1953 – December 29, 2025
John A. Mixell Jr., 72, of Carlisle, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center. He was born on August 11, 1953, in Carlisle to the late John A. Mixell Sr. and Gladys (Lebo) Mixell.
John graduated from Carlisle High School in 1972 and later retired from Carlisle SynTec Systems where he worked as a team leader.
Above all else, John cherished time spent with his family and found his greatest joy in being surrounded by those he loved. He believed some of life's best conversations happened around a table, and sharing meals became one of his favorite ways to connect. Time with his wife and children meant everything to him, especially the traditions he shared with his daughters, including regular dinners and his beloved Saturday lunch outings with his youngest daughter. Those simple yet meaningful moments brought him great happiness and will forever be treasured.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Alma (Goodwin) Mixell; his son, John A. Mixell III, and his wife Amanda, his daughters, Kathy Raudabaugh and her husband Ronald, and Shelly Mixell and her significant other, Kevin Troup, and his grandson, Jayden Mixell. He was also deeply loved by his beloved Boston Terrier, Frankie, and five cherished grand-dogs.
John is also survived by his sisters, Susan Moose and Judy Lehman; his brothers, Kenneth Mixell and Richard Mixell; his stepfather, William "Brownie" Brown; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Mixell.
The family will greet friends at a visitation for John on Friday, February 6th, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St. in Carlisle.
