John Joseph Mangan, III, 52, of Carlisle, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at home.  He was born on January 20, 1972, in Binghamton, NY and is the son of John J. Mangan, Jr. of Binghamton and Janice E. (Rounds) Mangan of Apalachin, NY.

John graduated from Owego Free Academy in Owego, NY, earned his Bachelor's degree from Colgate University and then his law degree from Dickinson School of Law, Carlisle, PA. John was a practicing lawyer in Carlisle. His intellect, curious nature, and adventurous spirit invoked friendly and fun encounters wherever he went. This curiosity also led him to a passion for the outdoors, enjoying many activities such as hiking, biking, and rock collecting. He had a profound connection with animals, and leaves behind his beloved dog and two cats. His love of nature was second only to the love for his children, who were his entire world.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by one son, John J. (wife Jolie) Mangan, IV of Camp Hill, four daughters, McKenzie Mangan, Ryann Mangan, Keara Mangan and Gwenn Mangan, all of Newtown Square, PA, two sisters, Lisa Bloodnick of Apalachin and Maureen Mangan Barnett of Vestal, NY, his former wife and mother of his children, Corrine Mangan of Newtown Square, one granddaughter, Juniper Mangan, one grandson on the way, one nephew, Brendan Bloodnick, two nieces, Rosemary Bloodnick and Claire Bloodnick.

A visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2024, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 87 Marsh Dr., Carlisle with Father Chiedozie officiating. A fellowship luncheon will follow the service at the church.  Private burial will be in New York.
