John T. Davids, 80, of Carlisle, died Sunday, January 10, 2010, in the Carlisle Regional Medical Center. He was born on Wednesday, April 24, 1929, in Llanerch, and was a son of the late Judson N. and Edith A. (Brownmiller) Davids.

John retired in 1988 from the former Carlisle Hospital, where he worked in the maintenance department. He was a longtime member of First United Church of Christ in Carlisle, a member of AARP and the AMORA Club. He enjoyed traveling. John was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy M. Davids, who died Sept. 5, 1988, one brother, Gerald R. Davids and one sister, Joyce D. Richardson.

John is survived by his wife, Thelma "June" (Kitzmiller) Davids, one sister, Jean D. Strahan of Silver Spring, MD and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Rev. Lynn R. Schultz officiating. Burial will be in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A viewing will be held on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until time of the services at the funeral home.
