Joel was a 1976 graduate of Carlisle High School and served in the United States Marine Corps. He was currently employed at U.P.S. Freight in Mechanicsburg, which was the former Overnight Freight, for over 20 years. Joel was a member of Eagles Aerie 1299, White Circle Club, The Moose, V.F.W., AmVets and the American Legion, all of Carlisle.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one son, Joel Dalton Trolinger of Carlisle, four brothers; Terry Trolinger of Elizabethtown, Galen Trolinger of Carlisle, Jerry Trolinger, Jr. of Carlisle, Michael Trolinger of Springville, TN and several nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover Str., Carlisle, with funeral services to begin at 2 p.m. Burial with military honors by Cumberland County Honor Guard will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Memorial contributions may be made to Ewing Brothers Funeral Home to help with Joel's funeral expenses.
