JoAnn was born on August 15, 1951 at Carlisle Barracks Hospital to Alexander "Ski" Dluzneski and Betty "Nana" (Harrington) Paxton. She attended Carlisle High School and graduated in 1969 from Elizabeth City High School in North Carolina. She worked at Carlisle Hospital for many years and in 1994 she opened the "Market Cross Pub" in downtown Carlisle with her husband. Her generous heart, determination and sense of humor has touched many people through her business and personal life but the most special part of her life was her time spent with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 33 years, Jeffrey Allen Goss, one son, D. J. (wife, Susann) Morrison and their children, Sophia and Nicholas, one daughter, Ashleigh Goss (husband, Jeffrey) Corby and their children, Mayson and Cole, three sisters; her twin Judy (husband, Ron) Gehr, Janet Gossard and Nancy (husband, Charles) Kuhn. She had many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and pub family that showed her love and support.

A visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, September 26, 2016 followed by a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. in the Carlisle United Methodist Church, 45 S. West St, Carlisle, with Rev. Mira Hewlett officiating. Burial will be private. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, we want to show gratitude to nurses.
