Joan S. McDermitt, 75, of Marysville, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2016 at her home. She was born on August 27, 1940 in Harrisburg, and was a daughter of the late Jesse C. Wells, Sr. and Barbara (Foesel) Wells. Joan was the widow of John F. McDermitt, who died Feb. 1, 1993.

Joan was a loving and devoted homemaker who will be deeply missed by her family. Joan was of Catholic faith.

She is survived by three daughters; Lori Saul of Shippensburg, Hope A. Soldano of Bartos and Joanne S. (husband, TJ) Gjertson of Anchorage, AK, one brother, Gerald Wells of Middletown, one sister, Barbara Morrison of Enola, 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2016 followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St, Carlisle, with Rev. Don Bender officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church, Carlisle.
