Joan M. McClam, 87, of Carlisle and formerly of Philadelphia, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle.  She was born on February 3, 1932 in Philadelphia and was a daughter of the late James and Helen (Laws) Allen and the widow of Levi McClam who died in 1982.

Joan graduated from Roxborough High School.  She retired from the former John Wannamaker Department Store after 39 years of service as a buyer in housewares.

She is survived by one daughter, Gail (husband, Joseph) Barnett of Carlisle, one son, Steven McClam of Philadelphia, one sister, Gwendolyn Peyton of Philadelphia, 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Joan was preceded in death by one son, Allen McClam, one brother, Thomas Allen and one sister, Johnadette Green.
