She was a 1948 graduate of Carlisle High School. Joan was a member of Middlesex United Methodist Church, a charter member of Eagles Aerie 1299 Ladies Auxiliary and a life member of V.F.W. Post 477 Ladies Auxiliary, all of Carlisle.

She is survived by four daughters; Sharon Napolitan of Shippensburg, Caryl Brenneman and Debra White, both of Carlisle and Brenda Wieland of Elliottsburg, one brother, William B. Adams of Florida and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Private graveside services and burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle, with Pastor Jacob Waybright officiating. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of arrangements.
