Obituary
Joan L. Farlling, 70, of Carlisle, died Sunday, July 17, 2011, at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. She was born on Thursday, May 15, 1941, in Carlisle, a daughter of the late Lester B. and Betty (Brown) Farlling.
Joan was a 1959 graduate of Carlisle High School and had worked at the former Carlisle Hospital as an L.P.N. for many years. She attended the Carlisle Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters; Cristine (and her husband, David) Keller of Spring Hope, NC and Leslee (and her husband, Ralph) Nace of Carlisle, four grandchildren; Bradley, Jessica, Brittany and Taylor and four great-granddaughters.
Private funeral services were held on Friday, July 22, 2011, in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, with Pastor Ed Roman officiating. Burial was in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.

Many friends and I used to work with Joan at the Carlisle Hospital Psychiatric Inpatient unit and were shocked to hear of her death and did not know that she was ill. We are saddened and would like to know where to send condolences to the family. We offer our thoughts and prayers.

Cristine and Leslee my deepest sympathy to you girls. I was with your mother in San Angelo, TX when you were born Cristine. Although we had little contact after we left TX your Mom was a treasured friend. I am so sorry to just hear of your loss.
