Jeanne N. Sunday

Our Beloved Mother, Jeanne N. Sunday, 97, of Carlisle went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday August 31,2026, at Cumberland Crossing Nursing Home Facility, Carlisle. She was born on May 23,1929, in Carlisle and was the daughter of the late H. Blaine Nelson and Mae Kitner Nelson. She was the widow of the late Jack K. Sunday who died on September 21, 2022.

Jeanne graduated from Carlisle High School in 1947. She then was employed by C.H. Masland and Sons of Carlisle as a public relations secretary prior to becoming a dedicated homemaker and farm wife. One of her talents on the farm was successfully and lovingly raising a high percentage of Holstein dairy calves to good health before it was considered an important job. When not on the farm, Jeanne enjoyed her summers going to the beach at Ocean City Md. She was a longtime member of Middlesex United Methodist Church. She served there as a financial secretary for many years. She also served in the nursery and teaching children's classes. She also graduated from the Disciple Bible Class that was given at the Church. Also, Jeanne was a cofounder of the Middlesex Youth Baseball Association.

She is survived by her children Stephen (Judy) of Carlisle, Sabrina of Carlisle and Michael of Mechanicsburg. She had two grandchildren, Mark E. Sunday (Danielle) and Rachel L. Sunday and one great grandson Max S. Sunday. She had one sister Dolores Cloyes of Mechanicsburg.

Jeanne had a beautiful soul and was a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Aunt. She nurtured an extended family centered on her love and care for others.

A private burial service will be held at Letort Cemetery in Middlesex Twp. with the Pastor Miguel Arenas officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Community Cares, 50 West Penn St. Carlisle, Pa. 17013. Please visit www.EwingBrothers.com to send condolences.
